Karen is originally from Edmonton where she studied art at the University of Alberta. She has exhibited at festivals and markets as well as a fundraiser for mental health. Karen is working on a line of hand painted and upcycled clothing, to divert waste from the landfill and repurpose items in a unique fashion.

I focus on the healing aspects of being connected to our natural environment and reflect this in custom pieces highlighting special stories from customer's lives. I use bold colors and textures with the intent of drawing the viewer into the piece as if they can feel the energy of being there; the smells, the light breeze, the sun on their face or the connection to an animal's sentience".                -Karen Haugen
